|Event:||Heyman Center Externship at the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission|
The Samuel & Ronnie Heyman Center on Corporate Governance has coordinated and secured two externship positions for Cardozo students at the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC). Two students will serve as legal interns this summer (2011) working primarily in the Corporate Finance and Supervision of Markets divisions.
Strong preference for students who have taken Securities Regulation, Corporate Finance and/or International Finance.
Good legal research skills.
Excellent writing skills.
Language – English. Chinese would be an advantage but not essential.
For the Corporate Finance division intern – some exposure to and understanding of regulation of public offers of securities would be an advantage. Experience in prospectuses/fund raising in the US or other regimes (eg, previous working experience in the financial field) is an advantage.
For the Supervision of Markets division intern – previous working working experience in the financial services industry and knowledge on OTC derivatives are necessary. Knowledge of detailed requirements on OTC derivatives in the Dodd-Frank Act would be an advantage.
