Professor Engler was an acting assistant professor at New York University School of Law from 1997 to 1999. For five years he was an associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson. He was an editor of the New York University Law Review and the Tax Law Review. His scholarship focuses on income tax.

Professor Engler teaches Corporations, Corporate Taxation, and Federal Income Taxation.

He holds a BA, JD, and LLM from New York University.
